A recent article in the Westsound Home & Garden Magazine, affirms that Communities In Schools’ formula transforms kids lives. But for too many, summer comes and they slide – into isolation and hunger. We can change that with:
Summer Literacy and Nutrition Program – Harbor Heights, Vaughn, and Minter Creek, host a camp for elementary age children to build their literacy skills and confidence. Backpacks 4Kids provides the food. Your gift today will help us purchase books for each child in the program, many of whom do not have personal home libraries.
Summer Jam – The Boys and Girls Club will be the hub for the Summer Jam for kids from Key Peninsula Middle School. Transportation will be provided through a partnership with KP Bus Connects. Your gift today will help us to offer special journaling workshops, nutrition/cooking classes, twice weekly yoga classes, and a stand-up comedy club.
Together, we can make this summer a time where our kids build their self-confidence and believe in their future.
