Congratulations to Tacoda Anker, a young man whose journey from suspension to graduation will inspire many! Tacoda, a Communities In Schools of Peninsula (CISP) student who has overcome difficult obstacles including drug addiction, is graduating from Peninsula High School this June and has been accepted to Washington State University (WSU). Tacoda not only got his acceptance from WSU, but was surprised when he got a personal phone call from the president of the university, congratulating him on his comeback story. He has not only overcome adversity in his own life, but now gives back to others by mentoring other struggling youth in the WhyTry Program at PHS. Tacoda’s epic journey is a shining example of the how schools and community-based organizations such as CISP can work together to empower youth and continue to guide them down the path to a bright future!
